Whether you have a classic mower or an automated lawnmower, several maintenance steps are essential before you start using it again.
Cleaning a mower
The first and most important step is to properly clean the mower and its parts. Ideally, you should clean the mower after each use to prevent clogging with garden waste. Always make sure the mower is switched off before cleaning. Remove old grass, leaves and dirt which have accumulated around the blades. Do not use any sharp tools for cleaning since these will scratch the mower and encourage rust. Spark plugs do not need to be replaced each season, although we recommended cleaning them together with the filter at least at the beginning of the season. The best way to clean a filter is to blow it with compressed air.
