5 factors to consider with dry ice cleaning

Dry ice cleaning can save a company money, time and much uncertainty. Choosing a suitable supplier does not need any crystal ball prophesy – if you know how.

Set up the order criteria
→  How much money can your company allocate to cleaning
When do you expect to see returns on your investment
To what extent can you count on your technical staff to assist

To what extent it is possible to interfere with the production schedule

Check suppliers

Dry ice cleaning can be performed by anyone with the necessary equipment. Check your potential supplier carefully. Focus on professional experience (a certificate is a guarantee of high expertise), experience in the business environment – recommendations and references and check them are crucial.

Perform functional tests and set a budget

Describe your situation and business activities. A sales representative will then discuss details with you and any functional tests which can be performed directly on your production line. Through these tests, the supplier can determine whether it can meet your needs with its equipment and practical knowledge. The supplier should calculate the total cost and return on investment according to the time needed for preparations and blasting, the amount of dry ice consumed and other factors. If you purchase or rent blasting equipment, consider the total cost of ownership. This also includes the costs for operating and maintaining the machines and purchasing dry ice pellets.

Demand on staff

Cleaning a production facility means applying certain restrictions on operation and will therefore impact the activities of your employees. Production and maintenance managers, setters and technicians should all disconnect and reconnect machines and work together to clean them.
→  Do the employees work well with the machines? Are the machines easy to operate? Do the machines have functions for cleaning?
→  Can employees repair minor faults or are authorized technicians required?
